Thank you, thank you! So, the secret of this epic is that the last 100 words of this chapter is something I wrote 6 months ago for BSG_epics for some silly 5 minute drabble exercise. And then it needed to be a whole story :)
I actually tried to write Kara coming back and believing Leoben was dead, and she wouldn't do it. She was too much better to go to the grief-stricken dark place anymore. I'm glad the certainty works in its place!
Exactly what Kara is will be revealed in time. But don't worry, like everything else here we're hardly following RDM's script!
