Drabbles: Epics Titles!

These are from yesterday's game where people gave you titles to write the stories to match. Enjoy!
Quiet World for
newnumbertwo(D'Anna, PG)
As the last of the human and Cylon ships burn up, out of the atmosphere, the world falls silent around her. Not a single voice speaks; there isn’t even a bird to open its beak in song. Yet as she wanders down the shore the waves heave rhythmically against the sand; in the forest the wind rustles the few remaining trees.
D’Anna listens to it all, and all the words she’s ever known - propaganda and half-truths and prayers - fall away from her lips unspoken. She isn’t sure what she was expecting to find here. She wasn’t expecting peace.
Nightfall for
plaid_slytherin(Bill, PG)
He sits beside the monument he’s built, staring out across the beauty of a world she helped them reach. He owes it to Laura, he knows. But now he’s an old man, sitting on hard ground, unable to think of a reason to get up.
The sun is setting again when he hears a voice. After a moment Bill realizes: he left the wireless on in the Raptor.
“There’s something wrong with Lee,” Saul says, sounding as close as if he were mere feet away. “He needs you, Bill. Your son needs you.” He pauses, then adds, “We all do.”
One Hundred Percent Wrong for
astreamofstars(Gaius, Lee, PG-13)
“Sometimes, things just don’t go the way you want,” Lee Adama slurs loudly, gesticulating wildly. Gaius rolls his eyes from across the room. Even Tyrol, beside him, seems to be getting sick of Adama’s ranting.
“She just...fraks everybody,” Lee moans, and with a snap Gaius perks up.
Nodding to Tyrol that he has this one, Gaius strolls up, and bends over Lee where he’s resting his head on his arms. “You happen to be one hundred percent wrong,” he whispers to Lee. “Even when she frakked me, she wanted you.”
Lee stares at him in shock. And blessed silence.
The Path Not Taken for
sira01(Kara/Lee, PG-13, angst!)
Kara’s there by accident. She needed to pick something up, wanted to stop by the temple and pray, went to see what was happening.
The Sagittaron priest is on the dais, Lee and Dualla before him, holding hands. Kara stands frozen just inside the hatch, horror rising in her chest. The priest looks outward, asks if anyone objects.
Lee turns, finds her instantly, and for a moment there’s such hope in his face, as if she’s there to rescue him, that she can’t stand it. The words are right there: Kara Thrace loves Lee Adama.
The priest resumes.
The Edge of the Universe for
puszysty(Sam/Kara, PG)
His mind expands each minute, each hour he’s part of Galactica. Sam is barely conscious of his own body anymore, of the growing heat and the ship groaning around him as her beams buckle and melt.
Instead he feels the awe of each nebula, the swirl of dark matter through the universe. He feels the happiness of his brothers and sisters and the scope of their lives.
And then, upon reaching the edges of everything, he finds something else: the sound of Kara’s laughter, the warmth of her love.
His body ends in an instant. Sam’s laughter weaves with hers.
The Brilliance of Joy for
sunshine_queen(OC, PG)
Joy is seven years old when she first meets a child who looks exactly like her. She and her parents have traveled many days, from another town. The people here need a seer, her father told her, and he’s going to help them.
It doesn’t seem odd. Her father has many who look like him; her mother, too. The girl is just one of her new friends. But when Joy tags her in a chasing game, the others turn and stare.
Her twin smiles. “They can’t see me,” she whispers. “But don’t worry, I’m here to help you guide them.”
